El Museo originalmente fue creado en marzo de 1960 por el profesor y periodista Humberto Vera Herrera, cinco años más tarde, en 1964, se oficializa la construcción del primer museo etnográfico y astronómico indígena en la Mitad del Mundo con las primeras fotos de la proyección cosmográfica que señala los equinoccios y solsticios.
En la actualidad, innovamos al ser una Fundación dedicada a la preservación y promoción de la cultura de la Zona Equinoccial. Nuestro museo, ofrece una amplia variedad de recursos, exposiciones y actividades interactivas para conocer a fondo la cultura de este territorio único. Aquí, los visitantes podrán descubrir ritos, tradiciones, estilos de vida y manifestaciones artísticas de la zona ecuatorial.
EL ACORATENE O CILINDRO SOLAR
Es un proyecto único que proporciona una experiencia interactiva e inmersiva para los visitantes. Esta instalación educativa ofrece una visión única de la energía solar y de cómo funciona. El Laboratorio Solar está diseñado para ser un lugar donde todos, desde niños hasta adultos, puedan aprender de una manera divertida y significativa.
