El Museo Iglesia Catedral Primada de Quito, es un espacio abierto a visitantes tanto nacionales como extranjeros que presenta una colección de obras de arte de la Escuela Quiteña tanto en pintura como en escultura, cuyos autores fueron los artistas más renombrados de la cuidad colonial, Miguel de Santiago, Caspicara, Manuel de Samaniego, El Padre Carlos, Bernardo Rodríguez, entre otros importantes artistas de los siglos XVII, XVIII, XIX, y XX. Una arquitectura única se aprecia a lo largo del templo, mudéjar, barroco, neoclásico, neogótico, entre otros.
En la construcción, perteneciente al periodo Republicano, se encuentra la tumba o mausoleo del Mariscal Antonio José de Sucre. La Galería Histórica más grande del Ecuador se puede apreciar en la Sala Capitular.
Las cúpulas de la Iglesia presentan una panorámica única de la Plaza Grande y sus alrededores, considerado como uno de los mejores miradores del Centro Histórico, para acceder a este lugar se ingresa por un camino antiguo y angosto en el interior del templo.
Las criptas antiguas del siglo XVII – XVIII y las criptas modernas donde se encuentran los restos del ex presidente Gabriel García Moreno se han abierto para realizar recorridos guiados en su interior.
